Melisa lives with her parents and two sisters in a neighbourhood in the capital city of Managua. Melisa’s neighbourhood is known for its extreme poverty, drug production, and prostitution. Children are at risk of becoming involved in these activities if they lack education and better alternatives. The recent political turmoil created a dire financial situation for Melisa’s family. She recently lost her sponsorship. She attends inclusive youth programs run by the local church leadership in her community. She, along with children of all abilities, are welcomed and encouraged to participate.. Your support would assist with tuition, nutrition, supplies and medical assistance as needed. It will also help strengthen inclusive programs in her community.
