Karis Monthly Partnership Program

Become a partner in belonging
What would it look like to have a world where...
people with disabilities receive the care and support they needed to achieve their goals?
everybody feels empowered to get involved in their communities?
every God-given gift is valued and celebrated?
the image of God is recognized in all its diverse forms?
everybody belongs?
When someone belongs, they are known, noticed and missed. Don’t you agree that this is something everybody deserves? Access to support can change, everything in a person’s life, including their family and community, too. Through consistent giving, you have the power to make a transformative difference in the lives of people with disabilities and their families — in Canada and around the world!
By becoming a monthly partner, you can help make this world a reality.

Our project priorities
Inclusive education
Did you know that nearly 240 million children with disabilities around the world are still waiting for their chance to go to school? Half have never been to school before. For many communities, children with disabilities are hidden at home, excluded from school, and isolated from their peers. Karis works with community partners to train teachers in inclusive practices—so every child can learn, grow, and belong.
Your monthly gift can help:
Train teachers to welcome children with disabilities into classrooms so they can learn alongside their peers
Fund travel and training for travelling teacher aides
Provide accessible tools and learning environments
Reduce stigma by fostering understanding and compassion among students and their community

The impact you can make
Join our partnership program by giving a monthly gift of any amount! Here are some giving examples to demonstrate the impact of your monthly support:
-
Local: supports the smooth operation of an accessible Karis Family Camp through supports like volunteer training, providing all families a supported time of connection and respite.
Global: supports physiotherapy assistance for children with disabilities so they can fully participate in camp and recreational activities.
-
Global: provides an inclusive education teacher’s salary, giving children with disabilities the opportunity to get an education.
Local: helps people with disabilities participate in opportunities for career support and volunteering, including access to vocational training through Karis partnerships.
-
Global: supports an entrepreneurial mentorship program for families that experience disability, equipping them for a year to start a business and support themselves.
Local: enables community participation support programs that help people with disabilities develop their skills, attend activities during the day, and build meaningful connections – supporting them in meeting their unique goals.
Every monthly gift brings us closer to a world where everybody belongs.
Project highlights
With your support this year, we’ll transform thousands of lives, breaking down real barriers for people with disabilities and their families.
-
Karis is hosting nine Family Camps across three provinces. These unique, Christian faith-based camps are fully supported and accessible, providing parents, people with disabilities, and siblings a space to belong, have fun, relax, and recharge. Volunteers are then equipped to return to their communities and foster new communities of belonging. Locally, Karis is also supporting respite nights and accessibility trainings for churches.
-
Karis is working with local government and church partners to provide advocacy campaigns to reach thousands of people to help change public perception and reduce stigma around disability. We are also working with schools to provide supplies, training of teachers and school support for 180 children with disabilities. Our day camp programs include over 1,600 children.
-
Karis is supporting three early education centres to prepare children with disabilities and their peers to enter the public education system. We are working with families of children with disabilities to help with parenting challenges and learning strategies. We are also helping support nutrition for learning as children with learning challenges focus and learn better when they have enough food to eat. Overall, we support 245 children weekly with food and provide special support to 86 children with disabilities in school.
-
During the current political crisis and ongoing gang violence we are supporting U.B.I.C. church schools to continue functioning at this difficult time. In a country where most normal structures have ground to a halt, education provides one sense of normalcy for children as they grow up in this war zone.
-
Karis is working to provide sign language instruction and other disability supports through partner schools. We also partner with a large church planting network to include theology of disability education to the pastors as they train to plant churches. This way the churches will bring messages of hope and inclusion rather than stigma and shame that families so often face.
-
Karis is working through local churches and early childhood education centres to provide education to children with learning challenges. 270 children receive weekly support thanks to our donors. We are also supporting local efforts to get special needs programs professionally recognized so they can be eligible for government funding and become economically sustainable.
-
Karis is supporting a network of disability advocates as they fight myths and misconceptions that leave people excluded. We are also supporting 143 children with disabilities to be included in education.
