Together We Grow
Every year, Karis Disability Services chooses a theme, usually a three-word phrase, to help us reflect and focus on an important aspect of our work. This theme starts with a verse from the Bible that inspires us. From there, the theme is chosen after discussions with our senior leadership team, strategic communications team, and Our Voices Matter Council, a group of self-advocates with a representative from each area where Karis works.
This year's verse is from Ephesians. It reminds us that everybody has unique gifts that are needed to make communities whole.
Christ has put each part of the church in its right place. Each part helps other parts. This is what is needed to keep the whole body together. In this way, the whole body grows strong in love.
Ephesians 4:16, New Life Version

Our theme logo says "Together We Grow" with a brown heart to the left of the text. The brown heart has a green vine growing on it, like a vine growing on a trellis.
Through supports and services, Karis provides a strong foundation for people to grow and thrive - like a trellis supporting vines and blooms.
The imagery of a vine growing on a trellis can also be found in the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan.
In the coming years, we will focus on our people (employees and teams), our services and the people who use them, and our partners in the community.
Accessibility and inclusion is everybody's responsibility. Together, we can make communities better, including more people and supporting people to be present and share their gifts. Together, we can accomplish our goals. Together We Grow!
Our theme builds on past themes. Last year, our theme was "Celebrate Every Journey." We asked people supported, employees, and Karis partners: What are you celebrating this year?
A lot of people answered that they were celebrating a change, or a new step in their journeys. The word "celebrate" was easy for people to understand and relate to. After some discussions with different groups, we noticed that the word "grow" was also easily understood.
We welcome growth at all stages and phases of life. People hope to grow in connection, in love, as a friend, and as a better person. As an organization, we are working to grow so we can serve more people and bring them out of isolation and into community.
This year as we reflect on "Together We Grow," we are eager to ask people how they've changed in the last few years, what is different about then and now, and what lies ahead as we continue to nurture and encourage one another.
