Belongathon 2026 - Saturday, June 6
The Belongathon is back for its fourth year and it's happening on Saturday, June 6 2026 in a city near you!
What is the Belongathon?
The Belongathon is an event created by Karis Disability Services to support people with disabilities in Canada and around the world through awareness, community connection, and fundraising. This event happens in 16 cities across Ontario and Saskatchewan.
Communities are whole when everybody gets the chance to be present and share their gifts. The Belongathon turns that idea into action - creating real opportunities for people with and without disabilities to connect, build relationships, and break down barriers that sometimes go unnoticed. When we gather together at the Belongathon, we can raise awareness for and with our neighbours, and help nurture communities where everybody belongs!

What to expect at a Belongathon
At each Belongathon event, there is an accessible walk and roll (about 2km) around the neighbourhood, games, crafts, snacks, and treats. The Belongathon is free to attend, and if you register before April 24, you get a free t-shirt! There are also prizes for the teams with the most people, and for the team who raises the most money at each event.
How can I support the Belongathon?
Everybody is invited to come out on Saturday, June 6 and walk and roll to support people with disabilities in Canada and around the world. You can sign up at belongathon.ca as an individual, as a member of a team, or as a team captain and you can begin raising funds right away.
On belongathon.ca, you can find FAQs, tips to help you fundraise, photos from past events, and more information.
If you're a business or church looking to partner with Karis to raise funds for the Belongathon, you can reach out to fundraising@karis.org.
Where is the money going?
This year, 50% of funds raised will go to people with disabilities in Uganda and Ethiopia.
In Uganda, funds will support a public advocacy campaign to help communities destigmatize and understand disabilities. This advocacy helps families stay together as they navigate life with a disabled family member and it also empowers people to find the right care and accommodations for their loved ones.
In Ethiopia, your funds will help build an accessible community playground for Horizons Academy, one of our partners schools for the last 30 years. This accessible playground will help children with disabilities play and grow alongside their peers. It's also a wonderful visual representation of belonging in the community.
The other 50% will go toward Karis' work in Canada, specifically to Family Camp, an accessible vacation experience for families with members with disabilities; First We Dream, a financial assistance program that connects people with disabilities to opportunities for growth and fun; and other community and family events at Karis.
See you on June 6, 2026 at the Belongathon!
