Karis Toronto Community Participation Supports
At Karis Toronto, our Community Participation Supports focus on creating environments where people with disabilities can actively engage with their communities, contribute their unique gifts, and build relationships and skills that foster belonging and confidence. Whether through job or volunteer supports, recreational activities, skill-building, or local events, we ensure that each person has opportunities to participate in community life as they choose. We believe that communities are at their best when everyone belongs and contributes.
Contact us for information about fee-for-service opportunities and respite supports.
We offer Community Participation Supports at two locations in Toronto:
Finch Avenue
Islington Avenue
Each location regularly facilitates up to twenty people, focusing on independence skill development and exploring new and meaningful activities. We are committed to celebrating gifts and the joy of the everyday journey of belonging. We love to see people CONNECT, THRIVE, and BELONG.
Creative Activities of Choice
Our program includes a variety of creative activities tailored to individual preferences:
Individualized supports and self-directed services
Education, independent skill building, and cultural experiences
Recreation and leisure activities such as bowling, yoga, Zumba, and Art & Wellness
Wall Less Community Days to explore the richness of our city and surrounding areas.
Partnerships and Volunteer Opportunities
We have a 10-year partnership with Humber Polytechnic for our Culinary and Baking Program. Additionally, we offer volunteer opportunities at Aninda Food Bank.
