Karis Prince Albert Community Participation Supports

Karis Prince Albert Community Participation Supports are located from 888 Central Avenue in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and serve people from Prince Albert and surrounding areas. This inclusive program supports people to explore their interests, build skills, and engage in meaningful community experiences.

Programming is flexible and person-directed, offering a variety of activities that promote personal growth, creativity, and connection. People are encouraged to participate at their own pace and explore new opportunities both within the Karis location and throughout the community.

Activities and Experiences

Participants can take part in a variety of experiences, including:

  • Crafting and painting

  • Puzzling and games

  • Exercise sessions

  • Baking and cooking

  • Visits to the Alfred Jenkins Field House

  • Life skills development

  • Music and pet therapy

  • Community outings and social events

Community Engagement

Creating strong community connections is a key part of the program. Activities may include:

  • Visits to the John M. Cuelenaere Public Library

  • Lunches out in the community

  • Monthly coffee mornings

  • Pancake breakfasts and themed lunches

  • Collaborations with local schools and organizations

  • Virtual and phone connections with family and friends

  • Participating as vendors at local markets

The Prince Albert location also features a welcoming environment with plants, games, and comfortable seating areas that encourage social interaction and relaxation.

Our Approach 

  • Support Ratios: 1:1 and 1:5, depending on the activity 

  • Person-Directed Planning: Supports are tailored to each person’s strengths, goals, and preferences 

  • Eligibility: Open to people aged 18+ with a developmental disability
