Letter exchange
Letter Exchange Timelines
We are committed to helping the families of the sponsored children to transition well out of individual sponsorship. With this in mind, you will receive a final report and every child will receive a final communication from our in-country partners. If you’d also like to send an additional personal note, please send in time to distribute before the school year ends.
- By April 1, 2026 for Haiti and Ethiopia and
- by June 1, 2026 for Guatemala and Nicaragua.
Tips to sending a great letter
- Send your words of encouragement! Thank them for the chance to get to know them.
- Share details about your life that are meaningful and important.
- Affirm your sponsored child that you’re praying and rooting for them.
- Even a few simple words of care can make a world of difference to the child who receives it.
- Celebrate achievements, highlight hope, and avoid focusing on loss.
Can you send a gift?
It will not be possible for you to send additional funds or a physical gift to your child. If you’d like to show your support for your child’s community, you can give a one-time gift toward that community. Just add a note to the memo with Child’s name and ID + “community gift”.
